Pieds: The Weird mutation
The pied mutation is one of the most weird mutations. The pied mutation causes yellow patches to show up on the birds. The yellow varies in color, depending on the ground color of the birds. If the ground color is green, the yellow will be a bright yellow. If the ground color is blue, the yellow will be a pale yellow. If a pied is bred with any other lovebird, some or all of the babies will be pied. If two pieds were to breed, all of the babies would be pieds. Pieds and lutinos are easy to pick out of the clutches because they won't have the black on the beak.

Light Pied
This is my Jade violet pied. She is what we consider to be a light pied. She is a light pied because the only yellow on her is one of her flight feathers and a small band above her red band.

Heavy Pied
This is a heavy pied. It's considered heavy because most of its body is yellow. This bird is not a lutino because green is still visible on the body, and the eyes aren't red.
