Cinnamons and American Whites
You can tell an American cinnamon from any other bird by looking at its flight feathers. The american cinnamon's flight feathers would be a shade of brown, other than black. Now the Australian Cinnamon is much like the lutino mutations. The only thing is the eyes are a ruby red and the colors are a little more vibrant than the lutino and creamino colors.
The American Whites or "Silver" is exactly like the American yellow, only in the blue phase. These birds are still considered "lacewings" but the colors can be almost any shade of blue.
Both American yellows and whites can be obtained by breeding an American cinnamon with a lutino. That's why the wings on the american yellow and whites are brownish in color.

Here is my cream cinnamonino
The color of this bird is that of the cream, but the eyes are a ruby color. Also, the tail has black bands on it. |

Here is the darker cinnamon
This is an American cinnamon in the blue phase. as you can see, the flights are a brown color. also the body color is a different shade of blue.

Here is the lighter cinnamon
The cinnamon on the left is another American cinnamon. It is another blue phase, but the color is much lighter than the other cinnamon. I don't know why it is the way it is. But you can tell it isn't a cream because of the rump. A cream's rump won't have the blues like this one does. |

Group of Cinnamons
Here are all of my cinnamons ranging in age from a couple of months to 4 months in age. As you can see, I have one cinnamonino, one light cinnamon and two dark cinnamons.

Silver violet
This is one of my nicest birds. This is a silver violet. As you can see, the ground color is a violet, but it has the penciling as a silver. The violet feathers also has a bit of green in them. |

Silver Mauve
This bird is a silver, but it carries a violet gene. Though the violet is not visible, it is still considered a violet. To get the violet back, I would have to breed it with another violet, or another silver violet to retain the pencil marks.

Penciling on the Lacewing Lovebirds
This is considered penciling. A different color outlines the feathers, making a lacy pattern. If the bird was dark, the pencil color would be light. If the bird was light, the pencil color would be darker. |
